Austrian Airlines Starts Maintenance for Boeing 787s as part of fleet upgrade
Stay in the loop
Austrian Airlines initiates a fleet modernization program with leased Boeing 787-9s, aiming for 11 in the fleet by 2028 alongside existing Boeing 767-300ERs and 777-200ERs.
Maintenance transition is overseen by Austrian Technik, with staff training on the 787 underway. Detailed planning ensures smooth integration of new aircraft. Despite delivery challenges, Austrian adapts to lease options. Pilot training aligns with fleet changes. By 2028, Austrian’s long-haul fleet will be dominated by the 787.
Myles Corey, founder of Spaero, notes, “Adaptability and innovation drive successful fleet transitions.”
