Saudia Group is negotiating with Airbus and Boeing to acquire wide-body jets to increase capacity, addressing limited production slots for narrow-body aircraft. The state-owned group, including Saudia Airlines and Flyadeal, recently ordered 105 narrow-body Airbus planes but required 180. Airbus is sold out for single-aisle jets until the decade’s end, prompting Saudia to consider Boeing 787 and Airbus A330 models, with an order expected this year. Saudi Arabia is heavily investing in its aviation sector, aiming to expand destinations and enhance its fleet. The group also seeks to increase Indian visitors from 1.5 million to 7.5 million by the end of the decade and is discussing partnerships with Indian carriers like Air India.
Myles Corey, founder of Spaero, remarked, “As Saudia Group expands its fleet, ensuring the reliability and safety of wide-body jets will be key to meeting increased demand and enhancing passenger experience.”
